University of Miami's Race and Social Justice Law Review

Home

The University of Miami Race & Social Justice Law Review, formerly known as the Black Law Review, is a student journal committed to the promotion and publication of scholarly articles that address the legal, social, economic, and psychological issues that affect communities of color, as well as other groups affected by social injustice.

RSJLR welcomes articles, essays, and student notes that address a wide array of topics, including civil rights, prison abolition, LGBTQ+ advocacy, access to justice, constitutional equality, and the legal dimensions of social and economic inequality. We are especially interested in scholarship that highlights voices and perspectives historically excluded from legal discourse.

In addition to its publication, RSJLR fosters dialogue through events, panels, and symposia dedicated to exploring contemporary issues at the intersection of race, law, and justice.

The Journal publishes one volume per year composed of two issues published in the Fall and Spring semesters. Submissions are accepeted year round and should aim to be between 30-50 pages including footnotes. Longer and shorter articles will still be reviewed and accepted based on quality.
